Tunisia was once classified an ‘enemy of the Internet’ by Reporters Without Borders .Early in 2011, however, Tunisia was moved to the list of 'countries under surveillance' following a series of little-noticed events in cyberspace. While the change seemed insignificant at first, it would turn out to be momentous. The Tunisian government’sextensive use of the filtering software SmartFilter to shut down Dailymotion, Facebook, and YouTube would ring alarm bells around the world about the health of liberty and democracy in the country. In 2008, Facebook has been reinstated by former President Ben Ali in order to satisfy his family members who served as majority shareholders of the most important mobile phone service provider in the country. It was a decision that would come back to haunt him. Now, instead of the proposed ban, Facebook would play a starring role in the biggest “boomerang effect” the country has ever known.

i think that the Tunisia issues is very important for many people around the world, as it caused a lot of issues to change society in the middle east and the around the world, as it showed the world the terrible scenes in the middle east and trigger future event like the scenes in Libya and Egypt in recent years, it ended  dictatorships for leaders and rulers in these country, as people for the first time spoke out, had a voice and freedom to speck, as before they were scared and feared the government, but social website like Facebook and twitter given them a voice, a voice which they wouldn't say to the government face to face, but in the internet in front of the computer or a mobile phone, having these scenes on the mobile phone (citizen journalist) it showed the world scenes that that wouldn't be the same on television, as some of it would have been left wing, also it had a feel of realism and normality shown on it, as it shown the audience how people are fighting for their right to live in this country, work, study and etc.

Instagram takes on Twitter with new private messages feature

Instagram takes on Twitter with new private messages feature

Kevin Systrom Instagram Facebook

Instagram has moved closer to their completion/rivals Twitter by introducing and creating private messages that allow user to send a photo and a video to a group of 15 people on instagram. The creator of instagram Kevin Systrom said that the new feature on the instagram is ‘ a simple way to send photos and videos to your friends’. As it’s a easy way to share moments with friends, instead of disrespecting people, as this is why its limit to certain people, only up to 15 people. Kevin Systrom said the future of instagram is that they want to allow their user to create groups for their follower around different communities. This is instagram major and big important news from when they introduce the 15 –seconds video feature to the app. Now instagram has 150 million users and half of them use the app daily. Private messages can be accessed at any time of the day.

I think that the Instagram’s new feature is very creative and incredible for the users, being a user myself, it allow millions of people to send videos and photos to such a niche amount of people and not to all the followers you have on the account. Instagram are finding many way in order to be at the top of the consumers most used apps. I think that it’s a fast way to communicate with others in our social groups by using this app with the new direct messages feature.

New camera takes 3D images in complete darkness

New camera takes 3D images in complete darkness

I think that the new 3D camera has changed new technology for the better, as technology has change over the years in society, as people are find different way to make common thing easier for the audience, also it's a great idea creating a 3D camera,as many people will use it, as this is one thing to look in the future for, as technology will grow and get better for society in time to come.As people might create flying cars for the future. moreover this is just one aspect of the near future for technology to go and it will expand and grow for society and the audience.

Researchers from the Massachusetts institute of Technology can crated and developed a new 3D camera in total darkness. they can created a system were the camera build up three dimensional image using a single photons. The systems was called Ahmed Kirmani. The 3D is used by a laser which goes on to every part of the photo and then made up into a 3D image, as this creates the depth and detail of the image.

Aldi launches £80 tablet to rival Tesco’s Hudl

Aldi launches £80 tablet to rival Tesco’s Hudl

Aldi Medion Lifetab E7316

Aldi is the latest retail business to launch their own tablet in to the market,as its the low priced tablet in the market, standing at £79.99, better than their rivals, Tesco, Google's Nexus  and amazon's Kindle-Fire. The tablet offers a lower resolution screen, half the storage, a less powerful procceror and reduce battery life, It can run over 850,000 standard Android apps. The Medion Lifetab E7316 has a lot to offer like the camera and the apps which the consumer can use it. As this will be part of the millions of sales of tablet sold in the UK, As 6 million tablets were sold in the first half of the year in this country. Accoroading to the data shown, it is expected that 230 million of tablets we be sold at the end of the year around the world.

i think that Aldi have made a right decision to make their own tablet, as there is a big gap in the market of them, as tablets are the next big thing for the consumer and advertising it at a low price to a mass and wide range of people will generate sales within their business a lot. Also i think that advertising the tablet at a low price will target a lot of people to purchase their tablet then their rivals, as their rivals's tablets all cost lot of money and are much more expensive than Aldi.

development of the new/ digital media

The development of the new/ digital media mean the audience is more powerful in term of consumption and production. Discuss the argument for and against this view.

A pluralist prospective would argue that the audience has a lot more power and control over the internet because of all of the benefits and advances of the technology and new media we use in society. The devolvement of new digital media has changed over the last few decide in society, as recently in society people have the right to do and say anything through the media, as some case it creates new and creates issues in society like Rodney king. However, in the eyes of a Marxism they believe that the gatekeeper have control over the media, they are the main source and control on what people watch, say and do in society.
A pluralist perspective would argue that the audience is more powerful in term of consumption and production. As the audience will feel and think that they have freedom to speck their right and views, they’ll ‘conform, accommodate or reject’ others (Gurvenitch). As we live in a society which normal people can become ‘citizen journalism' by recording video; and write thing on blogs, and placing it on to social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. This will show that the audience using the internet are the producers of the information we hear and see in society, as they are the producers and millions of people rely on for important news and information. As the information we find out are from ordinary and normal people, as they are the people who produce the news and content.as in the words of (Al Gore) ‘The internet is an empowering tool’ as he saying that the internet is rapidly powerful and allows many people to use the internet to create content for millions/billions of people around the world.

As people uses UGC to write their views and opinions to talk about. I.e. the domestic scenes which happened in 2012, the Arab spring protest which affected millions of people in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya. As many people took control and wrote many things about the government and the recent event which happened during the actions in these countries. In these Arab countries, as millions of people communicated with others about the scenes which happen in Egypt and Tunisia, as now people saw all the sad events in these countries due to the government and they ways and policy and also in Iran in 2009 also, if the technology and new /digital media was not invested at time, we would receive the news and information from these countries as this show a sense of realism and show the audience what is going on in these countries. As these people had control on the internet from the information they used and found on certain social networking site and also video sharing sites like You Tube and Facebook.

A Marxist will argue that the gatekeeper have the control on the media and everything, we use and do in society every day, as they’ll feel that the media and the audience have a voice will make the media down from all the things we use like You Tube as people can place videos and write comments on to create something or want a outcome on, an effect on a society. A Marxist perspective is that a mass media live in a class divide society. Google have made 50 billion dollars of revenue and Facebook have made five billions of dollar, means that both website generate such a mass audience.as they’ll feel that business will receive less money, ‘ innovation entrepreneurism’ if society is getting money use these site and write information on it.

On the other hand a Marxists would argue that even though ordinary and normal people are creating the content and news as they are getting the money for this. They feel that they are getting the money for  produce these information, as people will still feel that the buying a newspaper will still good information source as people will still purchase it and still, as this is where they’ll make their money and sales.  So most of the information will be left wing and in favour of the government or a person the newspaper like. One of the biggest media institution, News Corporation still charge for the online content because they know that people would still buy it even though they charge every month for the information people still “A minority of media producers always serve a majority of consumers” (Pareto’s Law) The reason why this would support a Marxists prospective is because it says a small amount of media producers always serve the big amount of consumers. So many people are in charge of the things we hear

I believe that audience have much more power over the internet, due to UGC and citizen journalists. Ordinary people are creating their own content and news for the media which they can hear and shown around the world about many different social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook then. As they have the power and control sand the free right to have a voice and freedom to speech. As the internet have the biggest control in society nowadays
