Post-Colonialism 
  • In the 19th and early 20th centuries, Britain and other European countries held colonial
  • Post-Colonialism emphasises the importance of the cultural, economic, political and military dominance of this past.
  • The absence of non-white image the media- suggest that white people are in charger and have control on the media

  • “It is a perspective that suggest the East and the Orient and representations of both fear and fascination’
  • Diaspora
  • ‘People experience a sense of belonging to a culture which is ‘other’ to the dominant culture of the country of residence’ – different culture
