Tony Hall: “This is not the end of BBC3 it’s the beginning of a new BBC3”

The BBC has now decided to shut down the traditional BBC three's channel on television and now become online only service for the users. They have now decided channel in the autumn of 2015. This move will allow the BBC to save over £50 million from the programmes making budget. The decision was made by BBC director Tony Hall who has decided to make Online only service  BBC iplayer the home of future BBC Three. As this announcement was made earlier this week, a online petition called 'Save BBC Three petition' has over 125,000 signatures, as a sort out the channel and the show is she still on the air on BBC three on a broadcast television. This petition has been signed by 125,000 signatures on the social networking site Twitter and Facebook as these signatures are constantly growing every single day. The position reached over 85,000 signatures within 48 hours of going live.

Earlier in the week, star and writers of BBC3 shows – including Jack Whitehall, Matt Lucas and Chris Chibnall – shared their concerns about the rumoured changes via Twitter. And at the time of writing, an online Save BBC3 petition has gathered over 77,000 signatures.

I think that the BBC feel that going online is better for the business  and for the users as well,  as they know that the users are targeted at 16 to 35-year-olds as they are mostly likely to use social networking site and video demand site like iplayer and love film on the Internet. The Business know that they can be saving much more money and placing this money into different areas of the business like expender more in to thier business, like improving and expanding on thier others programmes they have on the other channels BBC one, BBC2 and BBC four. As they are saving over £50 million of the money they generate on the BBC three channel every year.
